Microwire.news (aka microwire.info) is a humble blog and content platform centered on Asia Pacific, with news, events, brief product and service reviews, commentaries, and analyses in the relevant industries. Industries covered include cybersecurity, AI, robotics and industrial automation, industrial safety and security, high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) audio, multimedia, AR/VR, smart devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, wearables, etc.), and audio-video equipment (photography, videography, livestreaming, healthcare, etc.). It is our hope that in the world of TL;DR (too long, didn't read), we bring a glimpse of the Asia Pacific news and happenings, without you having to take too much time digging deep and reading too long. At the same time, we try to talk about interesting gadgets and products that may be interesting in our part of the world. The service was started in early 2004, first as microwire.info (registered in 2004, now over 21 years old), by [McGallen & Bolden Group](https://mcgallen.com/?mnews), originally as a complimentary service for retained clients. The service rebranded as microwire.news for more than 4 years now. We have been slowly evolving the content for wider audiences and businesses, and you will notice the progressive change in editorial style. We are also experimenting with AI-generated fictional novels for entertainment. The news categories are separated into - **Business & Tech**: Brief weekly updates on tech and business around APAC - **Cybersecurity**: Brief weekly updates on all things cybersecurity - **Reviews & Lifestyle**: gadgets, smart devices, food, hospitality, entertainment, etc. - **Interviews: **where we interview luminaries and innovators of industries - **Stories: **experimental novels and short stories *Consumers: This is NOT an online retail site.* We may not publish any information that contravenes our policies. For medical or health-related content, as well as our publication policies, visit our [legal](https://microwire.info/legal/) page. ## Meaning of microwire [.news/.info] *microwire.info: [acronym] Medios Internet Communications, Releases & Occasions Wire Service©™* A more subtle reason why we labeled this site "micro" was because we believe this will be a humble, small effort rather than a large public or universal wire service. We hope that this "hobby" project will be a sustainable project of passion. ## AI AI is here to stay. And AI is merely a tool, not an angel nor a demon. As a content platform, we leverage technologies of all kinds, including multimedia and AI, to supplement the content, whether curated, edited, or generated, as long as we find it useful. ###
